FIELD: applicable in gas masks for protection of respiratory organs from harmful substances. SUBSTANCE: absorbing box consists of body with bottom and three-layer mixture including catalyst in form of hopcalite, absorber-drier and additional catalyst. Absorber-drier is essentially ammonia absorber based on carbon, and additional catalyst is in form of absorber based on carbon with additives of copper, chromium and silver oxides. Mixture layers are separated from one another by screen - canvas and/or activated carbon cloth and taken in ratio of (1-2):(5-2):1, respectively. The layers are arranged in the following sequence in direction of flow of inhaled air: catalyst, absorber-drier, catalyst in form of hopcalite.
