FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method consists in continuous casting of ingots, their heating and equalization of temperatures, reduction, moulding and cutting into cut lengths: a block of polyhedral ingots with an even number of sides interconnected by cross-pieces is skimmed, divided into individual ingots and strained at a degree of reduction within 5 to 90%. The block may contain ingots both of regular and irregular shapes, and its division into ingots may be accomplished by flame cutting or longitudinal rolling; 25 to 90% of the degree of ingot reduction at rolling may be accomplished by the method of screw rolling. EFFECT: reduced service expenditures, expanded range of sizes in the field of application of billets owing to the expansion of the range of reduction degree of ingots at rolling. 7 cl
