FIELD: optical equipment. SUBSTANCE: method is developed to form thin-layer optical coatings with hydrophobic and fungicidal properties for optical parts of the devices designed for tropical and all-climate use when being repaired. Optical part surfaces are treated by solution containing 2- 4 wt. -% polymethyltrifluoropropyl(vinylmethyl)-$$$-dihydroxysilane, 0.5-1 wt. -% $$$-(triethylstannylthio)ethyltriethoxysilane, and solvent. When formed, coating is thermally treated at 200 C for 1 h. EFFECT: increased resistance to atmospheric effects and reliability under drastic climatic conditions. 2 tbl
