LIMING TANK Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: purification of juice in sugar industry. SUBSTANCE: liming tank includes cylindrical body with conical bottom, outlet pipe of limed juice and device for mixing of juice with lime milk in form of injector mixer. Its diffuser in its lower part has collector located from outside with branch pipe for lime milk and has holes for introduction of lime milk and recirculation of mixture to collector. Located from outside of upper part of liming tank body is box separated by overflow partition into receiving section connected to injection mixer and discharge section accommodating thresholdless slit flow rate measuring diaphragm of proportional discharge and liquid level gage. Limiting tank is provided with means for distribution of juice mixture and lime milk in body. EFFECT: improved contact of juice and calcium hydroxide due to tank design, maximum decomposition of nonsugars and improved quality of juice. 2 cl, 6 dwg
