METHOD OF LIMING OF JUICE OF BEET-SUGAR PRODUCTION Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: sugar industry. SUBSTANCE: method includes mixing of juice and lime milk, supplying of mixture to liming tank, holding of mixture in liming tank for decomposition of sugar-free substances and discharge of limed juice from liming tank. Juice and lime milk are mixed in injection mixer with juice velocity increased to 3.2-4.0 m/s with subsequent decrease of velocity of juice with lime milk down to 1.4-1.8 m/s and recirculation of a part of mixture to mixture flow. Then, velocity mixture is decreased down to 0.4-0.6 m/s, its flow rate is measured, and flow directed to liming tank is separated into separate streams having similar angular velocities.
