SUBSTANCE: gear determining properties of rocks includes striker and probe with conical tip housed in body, clutch to adjust position of probe mounted on body, indicator of depth of its downing with measurement scale and handle mounted on body. In addition gear is fitted with rest with stopper built in body and moved by screw interacting with rack-and-pinion put on striker and cock to move and register rest stopper. Striker is joined directly to probe. EFFECT: increased accuracy and productivity, expanded range of tested rocks up to extremely hard to break category thanks to smooth adjustment of energy of impact, timely determination of depth of penetration of indenter into rock, exclusion of energy losses due to direct interaction between tip and rock. 3 cl, 2 dwg
