FIELD: agriculture and public utilities, in particular, insect control. SUBSTANCE: insect destroying apparatus has casing 4, radiation source mounted within casing and composed of two parts 3,2 connected in parallel. One part provides ultraviolet radiation and associated ozone generation. Apparatus is provided with five switching devices, set of conductors 1 forming grid and ventilation unit 6. Casing 4 has swing apex member 8, bottom tray 5 and protective net 7. Third and fourth switching devices may be mechanically interconnected so as to provide inoperative position of one switching device, when other switching device is in operative condition. First switching device may be mechanically connected with third and fourth switching devices so as to provide operative position of fourth switching device and inoperative position of third switching device, when first switching device is in operative position, or to provide inoperative position of fourth switching device and operative position of third switching device, when first switching device is in inoperative position. Fifth switching device is connected to grid of conductors 1 between supply voltage source and first switching device. Inner surfaces of casing walls facing radiation sources 2,3 are covered with light-reflecting coat.
