FIELD: stands of mills for helical rolling of tubes, bars, short bodies of revolution. SUBSTANCE: stand includes housing arranged on framework and having body and cover jointly secured to it. Said body and cover are arranged inside drum with rolling rolls. Stand also includes drive unit for hinging cover and cover support provided with rotary roller-type detainer, limitor of lifting level of said detainer and drive uit for lifting said detainer. Said cover is provided with bracket having surface engaging with support and bearing platform, the last engages with said roller-type detainer. In order to change rolls, cylinder lifts said detainer in its upper position until said limiter. Unlocked cover rotates by means of cylinder by angle equal to 130 degrees up to contact with roller detainer. Said cylinder descends detainer to its lower position and cover rotates by its own gravity when its drive cylinder is deenergized until contact with said support in its limit position (180 degrees). Said drum is set vertically and it may be easily extracted out of cover. Cover with new drum is mounted in working position due to performing the above mentioned operations according to negative sequence. EFFECT: improved design of stand providing reduced time period for its repairing as result of improved cover construction. 3 dwg
