FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises disconnecting two-hinge spindles fitted above support beams from working stand rollers, supporting disconnected spindles, turning the latter through 20 to 30° due to hinge skew on the reduction gear side and maintaining it in the said position to allow the stands to move unobstructed from rolling axis over support beams. Proposed multi-stand lengthwise-rolling mill comprises foundation, its slots accommodating three-roll working stands, three electric drives with reduction gears coupled with each roller of operating stand via two-hinge spindle. It comprises also spindle disconnection device, two-hinge spindle, spindle supports and support beams for stand transfer. Device to support each spindle represents a lever pivoted onto separate post and furnished with a ledge hinged to hydraulic cylinder rod. The lever has roller to interact with spindle. The same post has a screw stop to control the force roller is pressed to spindle. Spindle disconnection device is accommodated on reduction gear housing aligned with spindle axis. Spindle hinge features skew angle α=20 to 30°.
EFFECT: reduced mill crosswise sizes, easier mill servicing.
