FIELD: metallurgy, particular, devices for plugging tapholes of metallurgical units, mainly, of metallurgical furnaces, electric furnaces and converters. SUBSTANCE: the offered device has supporting unit installed on body near taphole and connected with pneumatic system and provided with drive for turning lever. Lever has channel for supply of compressed air and is installed with its load-carrying end in supporting unit. The other lever end has plug with nozzle for supply of compressed air from pneumatic system through supporting unit. Axis of turning of load-carrying lever is located in the plane running through axis of taphole channel. Lever is bent so that axis of nozzle of plug in initial position is perpendicular to axis of taphole channel and made for its coaxial location with respect to taphole channel, with lever turned and nozzle entering the taphole outlet. Lever drive may be made in form of, at least, one air cylinder and lever axle is turned by toothed rack connected with air cylinder rod. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 5 cl, 13 dwg
