FIELD: foundry engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has turnable lever carrying at its one end locking plate 3 engageable with end face edge of teeming sleeve 2. At its other end the lever carries rigidly-fixed bar 6. The guide member rigidly fixed on the side wall of the ladle is in the form of hollow cylinder 7 provided with slot. Bar 6 is passed through the cylinder and is engageable with the surface of the slot by means of retaining pin. In the initial position of lock plate 3 is pressed against the surface of sleeve 2 by spring 10 fixed on the drive end of bar 6 by means of nut resting against cylinder 7. To initiate metal pouring axial force is applied to the end of the bar. The bar moves downwards and turns along the spiral of the guide slot. Spring 10 becomes compressed, thus releasing the hold-down force. Lever 5 brings plate 3 out of the teeming zone. The turning of the lever in the working position "open" is fixed by spring lock 12 engageable with the surface of the bar.
