FIELD: metal working; cutting pipes during repair and erection of main pipelines. SUBSTANCE: device is provided with guide and locking ferrules mounted on either side of cutting line. Ferrules are provided with grooves along which cutting tool moves; edge of tool is provided with cutting tip located at an acute angle relative to cutting edge; tool is sharpened in the form of blade. Cutting mechanism is provided with skeleton enveloping the ferrules; skeleton is combined with cutting tool by means of load-bearing member; guide ferrule located on side of pipe to be machined is provided with cutting edge and locking ferrule located on side of pipe to be rejected is provided with chamfer. Besides, device is provided with notching roller sharpened at an acute angle and mounted along cutting line before cutting edge of tool. Cutting tool is provided with guide rollers to avoid self-tightening; skeleton is provided with double-side limiter of cutting depth. Skeleton and cutting tool are fixed relative to ferrules with the aid of ratchet mechanisms. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 3 cl, 4 dwg
