FIELD: machines for cleaning external surfaces of pipe from dirt, rust and oil bitumen insulation. SUBSTANCE: proposed machine is just self-propelled unit whose frame rests on pipe line by two pairs of running wheels set in rotation by individual electric motor. Circular detachable working members are secured on both sides of U-shaped frame; toothed rims of working members embrace pipe and carry cutters with sintered-carbide tips and cylindrical brushes. Rims rotate in opposite directions from separate electric motors mounted on frame. Working members are pressed due to action of counter weights and centrifugal forces. Circular body and toothed rim have joints in horizontal plane only; opening the parts of the working member over horizontal joint, turning the lower half and raising it to the initial position will be effected by rack-type raising unit built in each working member which mechanizes labor-consuming and dangerous operations of mounting the machine on operating pipe line. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency due to reduced labor consumption, improved conditions of work in mounting the machine on operating pipe line; enhanced reliability due to reduced number of joints on working member and toothed rim. 7 dwg
