LINING OF SHAFT FURNACE Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2112185 C1

FIELD: designs of lining of shaft furnaces applicable in production of lime in manufacture of building materials, food and chemical industries. SUBSTANCE: the offered lining includes working layer made by rows and containing in zones of heating and cooling cristoballite-mullite heat-resisting products, and in zone of firing - periclase-spinel heat-resisting products. Transition sections of working layer adjacent to firing zone are made by alternating cristoballite-mullite products with periclase-spinel ones. Height of each section amounts to 0.1-0.25 of the height of firing zone. Combined heat-insulation layer of lining is located between furnace shell and working layer in firing zone and adjacent sections and made of asbestos board laid on shell and fibrous refractory material. Volume of 1 sq.m of lining in firing zone and transition sections amounts to 0.34-0.48 cu.m. In this case, volume of heat-insulating layer in firing zone and transition sections amounts to, respectively, 0.20-0.30 and 0.11-0.23 of total volume of lining in firing zone. Ratio of volumes of asbestos board and fibrous material in firing zone is (1:8)-(1:12), and in transition sections (1:3)-(1:6). Ratio of cristoballite-mullite and periclase-spinel products in rows of working layer of transition sections varies in height of sections from 1:1 to 1:2 in direction of firing zone. Height of rows with ratio of 1:2 equals, at least, 0.5 height of section. Products of cristoballite-mullite of each row overlap, at least, 50% of area of periclase-spinel products in adjacent rows. EFFECT: higher stability of lining by a factor of 1!5-2 due to increased stability of lining of all its zones and attainment of their equal stability due to higher abrasive resistance and heat resistance of the entire working layer and improved chemical stability of firing zone and transition sections, reduced total volume of lining including volume of layers comprising the lining; excluded toxic pollution of lime and increase of furnace productivity by 15-20%. 2 cl, 2 dwg , 3 tbl
