FIELD: manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: mix consists of concentrated binding suspension prepared by grinding refractory raw material, 20-35 vol %; fusible porous filler, 65-80 vol %; and R2O-containing additive, 0.1- 1.5% based on the weight of binding suspension (on conversion to R2O). Fusible porous filler is mixed with R2O-containing additive in the form of aqueous suspension of sodium or potassium silicate, after which concentrated binding suspension is added. Resulting mix is placed into mold and subjected to molding and vibropressing. Products are discharged from the mold and dried in two steps: first steamed at 85-95 C at heat carrier moisture content 70-95% and then temperature is raised to 130-200 C and heat carrier moisture content is lowered to a value not exceeding 50%. EFFECT: decreased heat conductance of material, reduced power consumption and laboriousness in its production. 2 cl, 4 tbl
