FIELD: individual protection of man against firearm and blank weapon. SUBSTANCE: armored jacket has pockets, with armor plates placed in them. Armor plates are made in the form of a stack of thin plates rigidly fastened around the edges by a shell; the plates are made of cermet reinforced by chaotically arranged wire having the shape of spiral; the external plates are made of a more viscous material, and the internal plates - of a harder one. Tungsten thread is used as wire, and metal consisting of titanium carbide and cobalt is used as cermet. The content of cobalt in the external plates is up to 35%, and that in the internal plates - within 3 to 5%. EFFECT: damped kinetic force of bullet impact owing to more viscous plates of external layers and harder plates of internal layers. 2 cl, 4 dwg
