FIELD: individual protection. SUBSTANCE: fabric breastplate of the armored jacket has pockets in which armored plates are placed for overlapping. The plates are bimetallic ones and their external layer is made of a high- strength steel, and the internal layer is made of soft steel. The external layer is reinforced by welding-on of powder metal wire in the form of a rhombic net with a triangular cross-section. The external layer may be reinforced by welding-on of a cermet tape.
