FIELD: electrical engineering; cross-winding of formerless armatures for fractional-horsepower DC machines. SUBSTANCE: wire passed through hollow shaft is wound on stiff cylindrical mandrel in diagonal plane by means of carrier mounted on hollow shaft which is coupled with mandrel shaft through stepped turning gear. Tops of winding turn are held in position by fixed wedge-shaped plates coming in contact with mandrel surface and provided with guides inclined to contacting point. Turn plane in this case is turned relative to winding plane and turns are shifted by wire in the course of winding so that wire is drawn into wedge clearance between guide and wound turn. This procedure eliminates additional operation for fixing associated thread and removing it from winding. EFFECT: facilitated procedure, reduced manufacturing cost. 2 cl, 5 dwg
