FIELD: hydrometallurgy of rare metals. SUBSTANCE: when recovering gallium from alkaline aluminum-containing solutions, aluminum is preliminarily precipitated from solution using carbonization technique, whereupon gallium is sorbed from pulp or filtrate on complex-formation ionite. EFFECT: increased ionite capacity, essentially reduced ionite consumption and their one-time charge. 2 tbl
