FIELD: oil and gas production industry. SUBSTANCE: this is intended for measuring level of liquid in gas-lift wells by acoustic method and it can be also used for diagnosing of well equipment. Device has following components connected in succession: unit of sensors, switchboard, compander, suppressor of stray pick-up, low-frequency filter, amplifier and recording unit. Connected to second input of recording unit is tape drive. Connected to second input of amplifier is time calibrator. Connected to output of stray pick-up suppressor is discriminator which is made in the form of successively connected high-frequency filter and differential link having its output connected to third input of amplifier. Application of compander and frequency discriminator made in the form of successively connected high-frequency filter and differential link allows for improving accuracy in measuring liquid level in gas-lift wells.
