FIELD: oil production. SUBSTANCE: proposed acoustic method involves selection of informative parameter characterizing operation of plant, measurement and recording of electric signals proportional to selected parameter and subsequent test of this parameter. Intensity of vibration of plant is used as selected parameter. For determination of intensity of vibrations there are allocated pressure differentials in hole clearance which are converted into symmetric antiphase A C signals and those are filtered from noise, amplified with suppression of phase signals and electromagnetic background inducing and are recorded on original document. Intensity is determined by average value of recorded signal and gain factor. Determination of intensity is conducted with due account of damping of acoustic signals in gas column of hole and damping is computed by height of gas column that is measured by way of active sonic detection and ranging. Timely measurement of intensity is conducted by direct reading of level of smoothed signal that is rectified and smoothed in advance.
