FILM COVERING FOR PLANTS Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: agriculture, in particular, growing of vegetables under artificial microclimate conditions. SUBSTANCE: plant covering is made from film and provided with rectangular base formed from pipes, couplings-T-pieces mounted on side pipes and intermediate arced members whose lower ends are inserted in openings of couplings-T-pieces and attachment members. Film covering is further provided with end couplings formed as pipe cuts with two connecting members arranged centrally of and in mutually perpendicular position to pipe cuts. End pipe of base is directed through pipe cut of two end couplings and two connecting members of each coupling are connected to ends of side pipes of base and arched member, respectively. Film covering is fastened with one of its side surfaces through sealing rings to outer ends of pipe cuts of end couplings and pressure plank is passed through hose in other side surface of covering. Construction of film covering allows dimensions to be changed in accordance with plant growing rate. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 4 cl, 4 dwg
