DIAMOND GRINDER Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: diamond grinding. SUBSTANCE: grinder has electric motor, camshaft, bed mounting coaxially arranged front and rear heads with spindles rotating in opposite directions. Front-head spindle fixed on bed carries floating chuck on its working end and pulley on opposite end. Rear-head spindle carries hold-down device on working end. Tool holder support is installed in working zone on bed. Camshaft mounting toothed pulleys on its ends is inserted in bed and its length is comparable with that of working zone of grinder. Both spindles have toothed pulleys engageable with the former through toothed belts. Transverse-motion grinding head with separate drives is provided in bed on opposite side from tool holder support. Longitudinal-motion tail spindle installed in read-head spindle ensures desired pressure on diamond billet being ground. EFFECT: improved reliability of grinder, facilitated maintenance. 2 cl, 2 dwg
