FIELD: transportation of printed matter packages in form of wound cascade formation. SUBSTANCE: packages made in form of tubes have wound cascade formation of flat articles, printed matter in particular; they are transported in preset sections of transportation from one device (W1, W2) making the packages to at least one loading spot (A) or to intermediate storage spot. Packages (with axes directed in way of transportation) are moved from package making device (W1, W2) in longitudinal direction of transportation ((FP1)). Then direction of transportation of at least part of packages is changed at point of distribution ((VU)) or at point of turn (U) with no change in position of axes mainly by 90 deg to traversal direction of transportation (FPg) for distribution of packages to different parcel units and/or for direction of packages to similar parcel units. Packages directed together may be pressed at receiving point (ZU) and may be tied in double or multiple packages (PP) by means of binding material. Separate, double or multiple packages are turned over at point of loading or intermediate storage, thus taking the position on their end faces. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 18 cl, 11 dwg
