FIELD: restoration of worn parts. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to substances for heat treatment of metals and alloys with special emphasis on heat carrier for restoring parts by weld deposition technique involving metal powders. Slag of invention, containing (in wt %): Na2B4O7 (52-58%), B2O3, (14-18), K2CO3 (15-17), and K2ZrF6 (4-5), is supplemented by Na2SiO3 (5-7), liquid sodium glass to boric anhydride ratio being below 0.4. Slag may be used for hardening heating of metal cutting tools, e.g. drills of quick-cutting steel, as heat carrier when performing weld deposition of metal powder on worn belts of gas distributor valves, and also for predeformational heating of parts in pressure treatment operations. EFFECT: extended process potential of slag and increased stability of its properties. 2 tbl
