METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING MULTICOMPONENT THREAD Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves connecting thread components; fixing produced thread and winding it. Component connection is performed with alternative changing of component stretching extent. Fixing of thread at intersection zones is effectuated by loops obtained from unstretched filament threads of components by means of air flow supplied under pressure. Apparatus has feeding bobbins for each component mounted along process line in predetermined order, thread guides, feeding mechanism, nozzle, discharge device, feeding and winding mechanism, device for alternative changing of stretching extent of each component by means of stretching members angularly offset one with respect to another. Stretching extent changing device is mounted on separate shaft between two thread guides, which are positioned after feeding mechanism and in front of nozzle. Stretching members are made in the form of polygons having uniform apex radii. EFFECT: increased efficiency by providing production of thread compact and convenient for further processing and manufacture of high-quality articles, enhanced reliability in operation and reduced power consumption. 4 cl, 5 dwg , 2 tbl
