FIELD: hydroelectric power-plant engineering. SUBSTANCE: hydroelectric power plant has water- wheel support-mounted in free stream, bellows mechanism, perforated pressure conduit, and turbine. Water-wheel is provided with revolving rollers mounted on its sides and equally spaced apart between them over circumference for engaging bottom plane surface of bellows mechanism. The latter communicates through air tube with pressure conduit to organize air lift and has inlet and outlet valves. Pressure conduit communicates through upper holes with turbine penstock. Outlet pipe is connected to turbine. Pressure conduit may be coupled with turbine penstock through forebay. When air alone is used for power generation, power plant is provided with receiver communicating with air pipe. EFFECT: improved power capacity of plant during peak demand intervals. 3 cl, 2 dwg
