FIELD: reworking of scrap of non-ferrous metals in reverberant melting furnaces; melting of secondary aluminium material in particular. SUBSTANCE: melting furnace includes chamber with inclined hearth for melting the starting raw material and separating the main material from foreign matter; chamber has port for loading the raw material and discharging foreign matter; furnace is also provided with chamber for receiving the melt of main material with tap-hole located in its bottom. Inclined hearth of melting chamber is made in form of widening chute having sag. Surface of arch is sloping. Burner devices (reduced by one) are mounted in one of side walls of melting chamber; burners fitted in side walls of melting chambers are located in different directions so that vertical projections of geometric axes of burners do not intersect in working space of chamber; simultaneously, burner device of melt receiving chamber is so positioned that geometric axis of burner runs in parallel with longitudinal axis of furnace at shift towards wall of melting chamber where lesser number of burners is mounted. EFFECT: enhanced thermal efficiency and increased productivity of furnace; improved quality of product due to definite location of burners, gas discharge ports and change in shape of hearth and arch. 5 cl, 2 dwg
