FIELD: optical instruments. SUBSTANCE: device has light source, screen and holder which is located between them. Holder carries polarizer, object from crystalline quartz and analyzer. Object from crystalline quartz is designed as two trihedral rectangular lenses which reflection angle is equal to 30 deg and which are made from right- and left-handed quartz crystals. Prisms are connected along hypotenuse planes and are located in collimated light beam as rectangular parallelepiped. Direction of optical axes in prisms is perpendicular to greater plane of parallelepiped and coincides with direction of collimated light beam axis. EFFECT: simultaneous demonstration of optical activity of crystalline quartz. 4 dwg
