FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: light olefins are prepared of suitable paraffins by their interaction with catalytic system, the process is carried out in reactor operated at 450-800 C and under pressure 0.1-3.0 atm, average hourly rate of gas supply being 100-1000 h-1. This catalytic system comprises gallium, platinum, probably one (or more) alkaline- or alkaline-earth metal together with carrier which comprises aluminium oxide (being modified by silicium dioxide) in delta-phase or in zeta-phase or in combined delta+zeta- or zeta+alfa- or delta+zeta+alfa phase. Quantity of gallium as C2O3 is 0.1-33.6 mass %, quantity of platinum is 1-99 ppm, alkaline- or alkaline-earth metals are used as their suitable oxides, their quantity being 0-5 mass %, quantity of silicium dioxide being 0.08-3 mass %, quantity of aluminium is up to 100 %. Proposed catalytic system is regenerated by calcination of coke being precipitated on its surface, no reduction takes place after its regeneration. EFFECT: improved efficiency of the method. 9 cl, 2 tbl, 1 dwg
