FIELD: coloring of cotton, viscose and natural silk. SUBSTANCE: method involves cooperative production of 3,4,8,9-dibenzpyrene-5,10-quinone and its bromination. The process is carried out in melt of aluminium chloride and urea or in melt of aluminium chloride and mixture of sodium chloride and potassium chloride and in the presence of dinitrochlorobenzene, molar ratio of 1,5-dibenzoyl naphthalene, aluminium chloride and bromination agent (as calculated for bromine) being 1:(13-18):(1.2-1.8), respectively. EFFECT: simplified technology while high coloristic indexes are retained.
