FIELD: colorimetric analysis methods. SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to be used for detecting and determining substances in a great variety of different test materials. Method includes enzymatic oxidation of test solution using PQQ-dependent dehydrogenase in presence of electron acceptor. The latter is electron-rich aromatic nitroso compounds that are reduced into imino compounds when oxidizing test solution. Reduced acceptor is detected via color development. If acceptor is inappropriate for such procedure, detection is performed in presence of non-oxidative coloring imino compound indicator or in presence of leuco dye. In this case, leuco dye is oxidized in presence of imino compounds into dye. Means of invention contains PQQ-dependent dehydrogenase and direct electron acceptor: electron-rich aromatic nitroso compounds, non-oxidative coloring imino compound indicator, or leuco dye. Test kit constitutes inert carrier containing reagents of claimed means. Nitrosoaniline compounds have general formula where R= H, OH, halogen, C1- C6-alkyl, C1- C6-alcoxyl; a saturated or unsaturated three- membered chain with one N or S atom and two C atoms, or with two N and one C toms, C atoms optionally being substituted or forming alkylene chain.
