FIELD: transport engineering; vehicle brake systems. SUBSTANCE: shoe brake has support plate, first and second shoes installed for sliding along support plate, each provided with strip and rim with friction lining on side pointed to drum. Hydraulic drive acts onto first end of strip of each shoe to press friction lining to drum. First expander with variable length is placed between shoe near first ends of corresponding strips to separate the shoes. Second expander is arranged between shoes close to second ends of corresponding strips. Support member secured on support plate serves as support surface for second ends of shoe strips. Mechanical drive has first drive lever whose first end is designed for taking up operating force. Second lever designed for distribution of force has first and second ends thrusting against corresponding ends of first and second expanders. First and second levers are joined for articulation in point of hinge joint located between corresponding ends. EFFECT: improved efficiency and stabilization of braking. 3 cl, 4 dwg
