FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: automatic adjusting release for drum brake is designed for mounting near drive unit located between two first ends of two blocks coated with friction linings. Two ends of release are connected with two blocks. Release has housing 58 and device 68 for automatic expansion depending on wear of friction linings formed by the screw-and-nut system controlled by pawl which is secured on flexible strip 72 attached to housing 58 of release. Flexible strip 72 becomes detached from housing by means of layer when brake is in inoperative position. lever has first arm 76 supported by nut 66 and passing through elongated hole (108, 110, 112); second arm 78 forms vertex with first arm at angle exceeding 30 deg; it is located between housing of release and flexible strip. Arm is supported by nut when driving means are placed in operation two zones which are diametrically opposite relative to axis of symmetry of nut. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 7 cl, 9 dwg
