METHOD FOR CATHETERIZATION OF FEMORAL ARTERY UNDER X-RAY CONTROL Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: medicine; may be used in provision of introduction of catheter into femoral artery of lower extremity with diagnosis and/or therapeutic purposes. SUBSTANCE: method includes use of catheter with direct distal end. Catheter is introduced by guide to the level of branching of kidney arteries, then, the guide is replaced with the guide having bent end. This guide is used for introduction of catheter into kidney artery. After removal of bent guide, catheter is moved through aorta up to formation of distinct loop which is lowered down to aorta bifurcation and catheter end is introduced into external iliac artery. Position of catheter is controlled by X-ray with periodic introduction of minor amount of X-ray contrast substance. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 3 dwg
