SEALING DEVICE FOR GLASS-BEARING WINDOW FRAME Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: sealing device has profiled sealing strips made of elastomeric material. They are located between internal side of isolating window glass and surfaces of frame components directed towards internal side. First sealing profiled strip is installed on side components of frame and is provided with drain slot directed towards window opening. Second sealing profiled strip is in contact with internal side of window glass and together with window glass it creates V-shape drain slot. Made in angular connections between lower component and side components are drain holes. They are produced due recess in side face of second sealing profiled strip which is directed towards window glass so that second sealing profiled strip passing under first profiled sealing strip protrudes towards external wall of side component. First profiled sealing component passes above second profiled sealing component. Aforesaid embodiment ensures branching out even substantial amounts of water condensate and reliable protection of wooden components from penetration of moisture even in angular joints.
