FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: selecting apparatus has hopper, disk with pin carrying rigidly fixed cam and handles, each provided with gripping device positioned at its end. Gripping device has immovable part 6 with teeth on its working surface and movable part 8 rotating around pin 7 secured to immovable part 6 by means of tie-rod 9. Tie-rod is driven for movement by cam 4 and replaceable spring 11 adapted for adjusting force applied to plant root by movable part 6. Apparatus allows plant roots randomly piled in hopper to be graded and may be used for root planting of various crops. EFFECT: wider operational capabilities, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 2 dwg
