APPARATUS FOR SINGLE-PIECE FEEDING OF CONICAL PARENT PLANTS FOR PLANTING MACHINE Russian patent published in 2007 - IPC A01C11/00 

FIELD: agricultural engineering.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus has feeding mechanism formed as flat feeding trough inclined to horizontal plane at an angle which is greater than rolling angle of parent plants, which roll over feeding trough surface, by 1-2 deg. Blade rotor mounted above trough, at its outlet end, is adapted for single-piece feeding of parent plants and is provided with elastic blades. Orienting mechanism positioned under feeding trough is made in the form of pipe having rectangular section and mounted in vertical position. Pipe is made from light-weight sheet material. There are flexible resilient spread apart comb-shaped members on front and rear walls of pipe. Comb-shaped members are arranged in at least two tiers in such a manner that their free ends define V-shaped chute open at its top and bottom parts. Stabilizing funnel consisting of flexible resilient members is mounted at outlet end of pipe, along perimeter of its section. Receiving and feeding funnel is disposed in axially aligned relation with respect to stabilizing funnel, under orienting device. Receiving and feeding funnel consists of two flaps, one of said flaps being immovable and other of said flaps being pivotally fixed and retained in closed position by means of spring.

EFFECT: increased efficiency in single-piece feeding and orienting of conical parent plants regardless of their sizes and shape.
