FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gravity suspension separators. Casing of settler is separated by tilted partitions to form descent and ascent canals and a upward-narrowing space. Below, in spaced relation to partitions, damping screen is installed consisting of vertical plates parallel to partition edges. Casing is also provided with supplementary peripherally closed ascent canals. Ascent canal encloses thin-layer blocks. Supplementary ascent canals expand below thin-layer blocks, their lower border being disposed in the damping screen plate zone. Thin-layer block, upward-narrowing space, and supplementary ascent canals are provided with devices to withdraw clarified solution at different settler height levels. Optimal conditions for suspension compaction on different levels speed up settlement of suspended particles and reduce residence time of polydisperse suspension with suspended particlesТ density close to density of liquid.
