FIELD: manufacture of tubular billets and articles from them. SUBSTANCE: device has body in the form of hollow cylinder with longitudinal radial slot from working end. Body is provided with posts positioned on its external side at side edges of slot. Pressure roller is hinge-connected in posts on eccentric axle with turning handle and axle position lock. Marking device is positioned on article by means of mechanism which fixes body relative to article along internal cylindrical surface of the latter. Body fixing mechanism includes hollow supporting tie-rod passing along axis of body and having longitudinal radial slots at its working end with releasing feathers arranged in slots. Releasing feathers interact with central rod passing along tie-rod axis and coupled to rod displacement drive which moves body relative to article along generating line of its external side surface is made as roller-and-screw feed mechanism. Nut of body displacement drive through rollers is installed on thread at supporting tie-rod end opposite to working one. It is hinge-connected to body by means of bearing and provided with its rotation drive. Marking tool of device is represented by sets of changeable punches with marking signs available on one of ends of every punch. Every set is positioned in though channel of holder. The latter is not coupled to body. It is positioned at article end along generating line of article external side surface. Holder is fitted with thrust boss at end facing the body to fix holder in position with respect to article end. Specific design feature of mechanism fixing the body relative to article provides for keeping the position of bearing surfaces of releasing feathers in parallel to supporting tie-rod axis. Device has common flywheel of separate drive of central rod of body fixing mechanism and drive rotating the nut of feed mechanism roller-and-screw drive. Device body is prevented against turning relative to supporting tie-rod by means of guide plate. One end of guide plate is secured on external surface of body wall. Guide plate passes in longitudinal groove on external side surface of supporting tie-rod at its working end. This groove is made between adjacent slots for releasing feathers. It provides for arrangement of article casing in marking zone on bearing surface of releasing feather, excludes noncontrolled bend of casing in process of marking and makes it possible to obtain identical depth of pressing-in of all marking signs.
