SINGLE-SPINDLE POWER HEAD Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: machine tool manufacture; electromechanical power heads. SUBSTANCE: head body accommodates poppet sleeve 9 fixed axially relative to the body and engaged with spindle 13 and drive shaft 4. Feed drive has differential 15 with output half axle 16 rigidly coupled with screw 18 of roller-and-screw mechanism 19 connected with shank of spindle 12. Input half-axle of differential 15 is kinematically linked with drive shaft 4 via feed neutral chain and controlled cutting speed variator. Coupling 27 provides for independent engagement of the chain and the variator with drive shaft 4. Carrier of differential 15 is associated with adjustable brake 32 and motor 3 is connected with drive shaft 4 by means of speed variator. EFFECT: improved efficiency; possibility of use for machining of parts in production lines independently or as component of unit-type machines. 2 dwg
