FIELD: processes and equipment for making profiled stems of drills for single-side cutting. SUBSTANCE: method for profiling stems of drills for single-side cutting comprises steps of arranging profiling unit and straightening unit in common supporting frame at using mechanism for gripping blank end and drive unit for pulling it. Table of straightening unit has changeable members and it is mounted in common frame of apparatus with possibility of rotation around vertical axis. Supporting members are in the form of pair of changeable rollers in radial section having rim contour coinciding with that of profiling roller and jointly mounted by means of horizontal axles or they are in the form of inserts T-shaped in normal section and having prismatic cutout in outer face of cross portion. Said cutout is arranged along symmetry axis of insert cross section. Vertical portions of inserts are arranged (as rollers) between vertical struts of rotary table supporting ends of cross portion. Inserts are secured to struts by their vertical portions with the aid of horizontal pins. Collet chuck of mechanism for gripping blank end is jointly connected with housing of its drive unit, it is fixed against axial displacement and kinematically joined with reverse drive for rotating it around lengthwise axis. EFFECT: improved design providing enhanced efficiency, compactness of apparatus, enlarged manufacturing possibilities, reduced time period of manual operations. 11 cl, 7 dwg
