FIELD: manufacture of current conducting ceramics and catalysts. SUBSTANCE: rare-earth chromites are prepared by reacting aqueous solutions of oxygen containing rare-earth element compounds with oxygen containing chromium compounds in the presence of polyvinyl alcohol at polyvinyl alcohol to resulting chromite weight ratio of (0.1-1):1 to produce gel which is subsequently calcined at 700-900 C. EFFECT: improved properties of rare-earth element chromites.
