FIELD: manufacture of highly refractory heat-insulating articles; construction of high-temperature resistor electric furnaces with heaters made from zirconium dioxide, molybdenum disilicide and lanthanum chromite. SUBSTANCE: method of manufacture of ceramic articles with spherical pores of equal sizes and smoothly distributed consists in mixing ceramic strontium zirconate powder in the amount of 90-97% of total mass or mixture of zirconium dioxide with strontium-containing agents, for example, strontium carbonate or oxide taken in stoichimetric relationship, combustion additive and 3-5-% aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol used as binder. Used as combustible additive is granulated polystyrene foamed preliminarily in boiling water. Blanks are molded by tamping, weathered in air for 24 h, dried and heat treated at temperature of 1650-1800 C. EFFECT: increased electrical resistance of ceramic articles; enhanced heat-insulating properties at high temperature; simplification of process.
