METHOD OF MANUFACTURING CERAMIC WARE Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2194681 C2

FIELD: heat-insulation materials. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacturing refractory heat-insulation products and can be used when constructing high-temperature resistive electric furnaces with zirconium dioxide , molybdenum disilicide, and lanthanum chromite ceramic heaters. For the first layer, strontium zirconate powder is mixed with 3-5% aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol as binding agent and, for the second layer, strontium zirconate powder in amount 90-97% based on the total mass is mixed with preliminarily swelled in boiling water granulated polystyrene as burnable additive and 3-5% aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol as binding agent. The first layer is molded using semidry pressing or isostatic pressing technique and the second one by ram molding. Layers are then dried, exposed to air, and thermally treated at 1650-1800 C, after which contiguous surfaces are smeared with strontium zirconate slurry, joined, and semiproduct are subjected to second heat treatment. EFFECT: enabled manufacture of layered products showing low high-temperature heat conductivity.
