FIELD: production of welded pipes. SUBSTANCE: known methods fail to provide for proper softening of pipe continuously moving through induction coil owing to quick heating and cooling, and regulation of heating conditions, in particular, limited speed of pipe movement in induction coil fails to ensure high efficiency of heat treatment process. The claimed method makes it possible to raise the speed of efficiency of heating and to attain the required level of softening due to redistribution of power when for the first 1/6 heating interval (stay of each pipe fragment in induction coil), at least one half of all power consumed for heating is imparted to pipe. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
