FIELD: railway transport; passenger car fluorescent lamps supply. SUBSTANCE: lighting device with U-shaped fluorescent lamp and reinforcement metal plate with transistor inverter is provided with voltage stabilizer and compensator, and inverter control unit has voltage-controlled generator. Stabilizer and compensator stabilize microcircuit supply voltage at voltage fluctuations of supply source. Control of inverter by voltage controlled generator provides stabilization of lamp current at operation duty through autotransformer and choke. Connection of reinforcement metal plate through capacitor with output of interference suppression filter provides quick starting of lamp. EFFECT: reduced time taken for starting of fluorescent lamp, enhanced reliability, increased service life and improved stability of operation within wide range of supply voltage fluctuations in car service. 2 cl, 1 dwg
