FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: to secure protective device on universal joint yoke connecting cap in combination with sliding ring is used by means of which funnel-shaped protective member is installed. Funnel-shaped protective member has fastening section by means of which member is made fast on connecting cap by one or several springy locks coupled with sliding ring. Springy locks provide displacement of protective funnel-shaped member in axial direction along longitudinal axis for fitting the member on connecting cap. Funnel-shaped member is removed, when necessary, by forcing off at least one lock by means of special tool. Such design of device provides easy access to universal joint for servicing.
