FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: protective device is used for cardan shaft provided with two universal joints. It serves for full protection. The first joint is provided with protective funnel fitted with extension in the form of section in which sleeve incapable of reciprocal turning is inserted. Sleeve interacts with adapter ring fixed on agricultural machine. Sleeve is set on adapter ring. It is provided with keys directed inwards by means of which it is coupled to distributing recesses on external surface of adapter ring. As a result, connection precluding reciprocal turning is obtained. Since other components of protective device, namely, the first protective tube coupled to the first funnel and protective tube related to the second protective funnel, are coupled to each other without possible turning with respect to each other and coupled tightly by means of connecting cap to the second protective funnel fixed on the second joint, the entire protective device is prevented from turning. Adapter ring and sleeve set on it allow simple maintenance. EFFECT: full protection of cardan shaft. 4 cl, 3 dwg
