FIELD: electrical engineering including automatic emergency control of power systems, such as automatic elimination of asynchronous operation. SUBSTANCE: in addition to known method of controlling increment Δϕ1 of phase angle between voltage and current at one point of power transmission line, increment Δϕ2 of phase angle is calculated for other point chosen so that electric hunting center is located between them only during asynchronous operation across desired section. Asynchronous operation is detected by maximum of absolute values of Δϕ1 and SSS exceeding desired value. Asynchronous operation across desired section is recorded in case polarities of Δϕ2 and Δϕ1 differ and external asynchronous operation, in case they coincide. In addition, absolute values of Δϕ2 and Δϕ1 are compared to detect side on which asynchronous operation section is located from section being controlled. Relative-slip polarity of electromotive forces of asynchronously running parts of system are found using known method according to polarity of Δϕ2.
